Estate Planning Smarts is one of the few consumer-oriented books to be continuously updated to reflect crucial legal developments. Any time there is a new law, court case or regulation that would have been mentioned in the book if only it had happened before publication, we will make updates available through the Estate Planning Smarts website. Depending on what has transpired, we will issue these updates in one of two forms:

Multi-chapter summaries (free). We will rely on this format when there are changes that affect multiple chapters.
Multi-chapter summaries since the 2009 edition

Update 2 - How the New Tax Law Affects Your Estate Plan

Single chapter revisions. Sometimes there are changes in the law that make it necessary to revise a chapter, but don’t warrant a whole new edition of Estate Planning Smarts. Example: changes in the rules that affect owners or inheritors of retirement accounts..
